Anec-notes is a series of paintings and sculptural works based on handwritten notes to myself. Anec-notes is a play on the word “anecdote”, as the content of each note is from my personal experience and memory, detailed in varying degrees of specificity, but not necessarily fact-based or verifiable. In excerpting my private scrawlings into a series of artworks for public consumption, the work serves as a portal from the cerebral experience of being an artist in solitude to the public realm.
